Sorry – Candle
London band Sorry release “Candle”, the final single from their third album “COSPLAY”, out November 7th via Domino. The five-piece featuring Asha Lorenz, Louis O’Bryen, Lincoln Barrett, Campbell Baum, and Marco Pini build on the psych-pop direction of their 2022 record “Anywhere But Here”.
“Candle” follows previous singles “JIVE”, “Echoes”, “Jetplane”, “Waxwing”, and “Today Might Be The Hit”, which currently sits on BBC 6 Music’s A-List. The album title references the trend of fans recreating characters through costume and behaviour, serving as the motto for Sorry’s approach: every character can participate, whether alive or dead, real or fictional. The songs overflow with pop cultural references, from Hermann Hesse to Aphex Twin to Tony Bennett.
Early reviews have praised the record’s experimental approach. Rolling Stone calls it “brilliantly eccentric” while The Face describes it as “a postmodern house of horrors”. The band creates sharply edited guitar melodies over bouncy beats with vocals that shift between hyperlaconic and hypnotic tones.
Sorry marks the album release with two small “COSPLAYOGRAPHY” shows at London’s ICA (with Rough Trade) and Brighton’s Chalk (with Resident), followed by North American dates in December and a full UK and European tour in early 2026.
